I realized through my past work experiences that I was always organizing people and spaces, or enhancing homes. To me the next logical step was to become a Professional Organizer and in 2004, I started my own company, Organized by Design, where I could help people by offering organizing, space planning, and home makeovers.

Being a Professional Organizer I was a member of NAPO, the National Association of Professional Organizers, as well as NAPO-GPC, the Greater Philadelphia. Chapter. I wanted to grow and accomplish that same credibility with my Home Staging Service, so in 2009 I joined RESA, the Real Estate Staging Association.

Interestingly, HSR, Home Staging Resource, had been on my future "to do" list as a program that appealed to me. Finding that HSR was now an accredited training provider by RESA, the HSR Home Stager Certification was the industry validation I was looking for and enrolled in early 2010.

The program far exceeded all of my expectations and was truly a value for all the information, tools and resources included in the program. Focusing more on helping one grow their staging business instead of just how to stage a room makes HSR a valuable resource whether you are just starting out or have been staging for over 5 years, as I had been. Today my business has evolved from the original starting point of Professional Organizing and Home Makeovers to now include the three services of Home Staging, Home Organizing & Home Makeovers, fitting together perfectly to serve homeowners whether they are staying or selling.

By combining my background as a Realtor, Property Manager turned Project Manager, and Professional Organizer, my niche has become the ability to take a home in disrepair or in need of TLC and offer a detail oriented, complete preparation of the home for sale. This may include repair work, repainting, de-cluttering, furniture and accessory placement, as well as curb appeal improvements. Listing a home as move-in-ready enables more favorable pricing than a home in need of work. In fact it is not uncommon for homeowners to love the changes so much they no longer want to move and for me that means a job well done!
