Success Story - Staging for Home BuildersThere is a reason why becoming a home stager is listed as the number one growth industry on CNN and that is because the sky is the limit on the direction a stager can take their business!
I was able to do two homes for a builder in the local Treasure Valley Spring Show. This was a dream come true job because the blank canvas was beautiful! I was also fortunate enough to land a bid where I stage each home in a subdivision. I basically stage a home and move the furniture from home to home as one sells and another is being built. I also do designing consultations for a local builder, which is so much fun and so exciting to see the home being built! My most exciting job was modernizing a home and it sold within a week of putting it on the market!
I still do
more marketing than actual staging. This
doesn't concern me because I believe it is
important to develop relationships; which
obviously takes time. By developing
relationships then I am finding that clients
are not only using me again and again but
also referring me to others. In this area I
have found that it is mainly builders that
use stagers. Therefore I joined the BCA
(Builder Contractor Association) in which I
stay active in. It is not enough to simply
join an organization; but rather to get your
feet wet and get involved. I also think
that it is important to be flexible to the
needs of both the Realtors and builders
alike. Each client seems to have different
needs, goals, budgets, etc. Some like to
pay me hourly, others like my package
