Starting Her Business in a Down Economy has Paid Off!
Financially, the first year was
tough! We are all having financial hardships. Starting this business
in a down economy was a risk, but it has paid off! I run my business
slightly different than what instructed. I chose to have my own
inventory. So the first year, I spent everything I earned and then
some. Having my own inventory enables me to be more I feel extremely fortunate. I would like to work full time every day, but the reality is - I work when I get the call. If I don't get a call, then I work harder on emails and networking. I have another part-time job in which I rely on primarily for the medical benefits and providing the income to purchase inventory. It is very difficult juggling both jobs. Working 16-hour days on not uncommon for me. Some days I get up and stage and then I go to my other part-time job. I love my staging business, so I do not mind the long hours and hard work. I would not change a thing in how I operate my business today or how I got started. HSR really starts you in the right direction to succeed. Talent and good communication are also strong attributes in making this business succeed. Some words of wisdom...I mentioned before that my website dominates in the cities that I want to be visible. I have a lot experience now. Much of my business was and still is driven from the website. Some of business is "word of mouth," and referrals. When I have a couple slow weeks, I attend Realtors Marketing Meetings, Brokers Tours and Open Houses. I have a web album that I send to anyone that mentions the word "staging." I am very proud of it. Thank you Audra for HSR and the strong, continued support! Best regards,
